Noel Greis is an expert in global logistics and supply-chain management. She and advises companies on the application of new Internet-based supply and distribution strategies within their organizations. Her research on logistics, global operations strategy, technology management and technology commercialization has won several awards.
She is co-director of the UNC-Tsinghua Center for Logistics and Enterprise Development (CLED).
As the director of the Center for Logistics and Digital Strategy, she helps industry leverage digital technology, especially intelligent agents, to redesign business processes. The Center also works with state, federal and foreign governments to develop transportation infrastructures that will address future business needs.
She is a co-founder of the Global Logistics Research Initiative (GLORI), a consortium of 13 universities conducting applied logistics research. GLORI projects, such as those on the air express industry and virtual teaming, focus on the development and implementation of Internet-based tools for managing the complexity of the logistics environment.
